Pomeroy Living Sterling Skilled is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Director to join our Facilities Management Team in Sterling Heights, MI. You'll train under our Maintenance Director and prepare for future promotions across seven Metro-Detroit senior living communities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents and staff.

This role involves hands-on maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, assisting with room turnovers, and mentoring maintenance

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of facilities management experience, healthcare or senior living preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and related codes.
• Comfort with a wide range of hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Repair and maintain building structures, grounds, and resident apartments.
• Assist with resident room turnovers, painting, drywall repair, minor renovations.
• Safely move and assist in transporting furniture and equipment.
• Contribute to a safe, well-maintained community environment.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and support leadership training.
