Job Details:

The Assistant Maintenance/HVAC Certified Technician is to assist in ensuring that the community meets safety, appearance, and operational standards established by the organization by servicing maintenance requests, completing residential requests for maintenance, and providing excellent customer service. Performance must align with the Company’s vision, service quality, and strategic initiatives to achieve operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the property in an attractive, comfortable condition.
• Assist in all types of maintenance and complete turnovers/make-readies of vacant units.
• Handle maintenance emergencies on-call as scheduled.
• Respond to resident requests promptly to repair and restore services.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and basic electrical needs.
• Rekey locks as needed.
• Inspect grounds, buildings, and equipment regularly.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace organization.
• Repair/replace appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and address maintenance requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist in inventory stocking.
• Maintain pool and spa as directed.
• Follow safety procedures and attend training seminars.
• Wear company uniform and badge during work hours.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and internal clients.
• Report hazards and safety issues immediately.
• Comply with OSHA regulations.
• Assist with hazardous weather and emergency response.
• Participate in training and team meetings.

Requirements:

• High School diploma preferred.
• 1 year experience in maintenance, preferably in apartments or hospitality.
• Experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, painting, drywall, or pool maintenance is a plus.
• EPA Type II or Universal certification preferred.
• Willing to work overtime and after hours.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks as described.
• Knowledge of OSHA laws and fair housing regulations.
• Present a neat, professional appearance.

Equipment:

• Propane torch, steam cleaner, key machine, sewer machine, leak detector, multimeters, boilers, welding torches, and hand tools.
