Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator Assistant to join our Wisconsin production team. You will set up, operate, and maintain packaging machinery, monitor quality, and ensure safety standards are followed throughout the shift.

This 3rd shift position offers overtime potential and requires the ability to work in a hot, humid environment. You will document production data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with teammates to meet daily targets and deliver high quality products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team setting.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math used in the manufacturing process.
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs., and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in a hot and humid environment during Summer/Fall.
• Willingness to work daily overtime and various shifts.
• Successful completion of background check and pre-employment screening.

Primary Job Duties:

In this role, you will play an integral part in the production process, ensuring that our machinery operates efficiently and produces high-quality products. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various packaging machines while adhering to stringent safety and quality standards. As a Machine Operator Assistant, you will also monitor production output and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process. Your attention to detail and ability to follow instructions will contribute to the timely delivery of our products to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety practices and machine operation, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs., navigate stairs, stand, walk, and bend throughout the entire shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment that is hot and humid in the Summer/Fall.
• Ability to work daily overtime, weekend work and various shifts depending on workload.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment physical and drug screen.
