Job description

Purpose

The purpose of the Assistant Lodgekeeping Manager is to supervise and lead staff in the cleaning of all of Lodgekeeping areas on Yellowstone Club property, as well as to help oversee our Member Laundry Team and to perform office duties including but not limited to payroll, ordering, scheduling, and meeting with other departments.

Major Responsibilities
  • Ensure that each Member, guest, and their families receive outstanding service in a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
  • Empowered to guarantee total Member satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Yellowstone Club professionally with our Members and guests and assure that all transactions are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for team members, Members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact your direct manager, the Director of Housekeeping & Lodgekeeping, or Human Resources immediately.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all Yellowstone Club team members to foster and promote a positive working environment whenever possible.
Essential Job Functions
  • Support the Lodgekeeping Manager with management and supervision of all Lodgekeeping and Laundry Supervisors, Laundry Attendants, Drivers, and Lodgekeepers on a daily basis.
  • Assist with the directing, planning, and organization of team members to ensure the highest degree of Member/guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a healthy and positive environment and a culture that promotes retention and internal growth of all team members through the Yellowstone Club vision and mission statement.
  • Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with all other departments to provide the highest level of expectations for our Members and guests.
  • Interact with Members, guests, and their families with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve Member/guest problems and complaints in a proper manner while relaying details to management for follow-up.
  • Establish a solid understanding of daily operations within Lodgekeeping and Member Laundry.
  • Assist in preparing overall schedules for the teams ensuring all sections are covered when needed.
  • Routinely inspect and evaluate conditions of facilities, equipment and furnishings and submit recommendations for painting, repair, replacement, or relocation to management.
  • Assist in maintaining that all Lodgekeeping team members follow all departmental, club, and performance factors established in their respective job descriptions, including but not limited to productivity, safety standards, attendance, initiative, and uniforms.

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • May help coordinate maintenance and repair of Laundry and Lodgekeeping equipment; helps with submission of work orders for all repairs and immediately report any broken door locks or safety hazards to management for immediate attention.
  • Establish and monitor a safe working environment for staff, promoting a safe and secure facility for Members and guests.
  • Help ensure proper OSHA and safety standards along with maintaining the proper MSDS (material safety data sheets) within the Lodgekeeping Department.
  • Assist in the establishment of standards of operation for each area. Plan, develop, and conduct training for employees to ensure these standards are met.
  • Assist in the establishment of monitoring control methods to ensure that budget objectives are met such as inventories, reviews of payroll, staff levels, and supply orders.
  • Conduct and oversee regularly scheduled inspections to ensure completion and adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Assist with managing the requests for new employees, interviewing, training, and ongoing development of the Lodgekeeping staff with an eye toward maximum employee satisfaction, retention, productivity, and Member/guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct monthly/weekly meetings with all employees communicating pertinent information and notifying staff of upcoming events. Solicit feedback and provide written reviews to the Lodgekeeping Manager.

Experience/Education Required
  • High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work.
  • Proven experience using communication and organizational skills to accomplish goals.
  • Previous resort or club Lodgekeeping/Housekeeping experience or equivalent.
  • 1-2+ years of cleaning in a resort or club setting.
  • Experience and ability to drive in demanding winter and mountainous conditions.
Experience/Education Preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Previous Lodgekeeping/Housekeeping leadership experience or equivalent.
Certificates & Licenses
  • Valid US Driver’s License.
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in basic technology including smartphones, computers, and email.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Word processing & proofreading skills.
Language Ability
  • Able to speak clearly and effectively with Members, guests, co–workers, vendors and other Yellowstone Club departments. Able to write clearly and legibly.
Math Ability
  • Able to perform basic math calculations.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve basic problems and/or know when it is necessary to get a manager to assist in problem solving.
