The University of Houston Law Center invites applications for an Instructional Services Librarian at the rank of Assistant Librarian.
The Instructional Services Librarian will lead instructional initiatives at the University of Houston Law Center Library, including administering the first-year legal research program, and will also provide other public services such as reference and research services. Candidates should have demonstrated instructional experience or interest, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to collaborate effectively with law faculty, students, and staff. Formal instructional opportunities are available but are awarded and paid separately.
Candidates must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and an MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library or information science program, or be enrolled in such a program with graduation expected by summer 2025. Candidates should demonstrate potential for success as teachers, researchers, and community members of UH and the Law Center.
The Instructional Services Librarian reports to the Director of the Law Library.
This is a librarian position, with academic rank according to the University of Houston Librarians' bylaws. Librarians are expected to develop a record of service, scholarship, and professional development. UH Libraries support ongoing professional growth, and we seek librarians committed to continuous learning.
