Job summary

The University of Wyoming Libraries seeks a creative, collaborative librarian for Faculty Support in the Research & Outreach Services unit. You will guide faculty and graduate students in evidence synthesis, develop programming and training, and help implement policies and procedures for liaison librarians.

You will also provide research consultation, information literacy instruction, and collaborate across library units on projects, assessment, and instruction.

Qualifications

JOB TITLE

Assistant Librarian - Faculty Support Librarian

JOB PURPOSE

The University of Wyoming Libraries seeks a creative, collaborative, and patron-focused librarian for the Faculty Support Librarian in the Research & Outreach Services (ROS) unit. This position supports faculty and graduate students across a wide range of disciplines conducting evidence synthesis reviews by providing guidance on emerging tools, resources, and methods for evidence synthesis support. The position will additionally design programming, workshops, and asynchronous training materials, and provide targeted research support. The Faculty Support Librarian is also responsible for developing policies, procedures, templates, protocols, and training for liaison librarians and developing a clear understanding of the teaching, research, and scholarly communication practices in assigned liaison areas. This position engages with and communicates with external liaison units on behalf of the Libraries. As a member of ROS, the Faculty Support Librarian will provide research consultation and instructional support and will collaborate with colleagues inside and outside the Research & Outreach Services unit for projects, assessment, and instruction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate outreach efforts to faculty and instructors across UW Campus and Online to provide general library and research support including developing engagement activities and targeted support for faculty. Engage and participate in ongoing assessment of faculty support and services.
  • Collaborate with faculty to provide support for evidence synthesis projects intended for publication. Design programming, asynchronous training materials, workshops, and targeted support for evidence synthesis and systematic reviews.
  • Support the development of an evidence synthesis service for faculty and graduate students. Assists with creating and refining service policies and procedures, developing templates and protocols, help design and deliver training for librarians, and contribute to service assessment.
  • Maintains current knowledge of evidence synthesis methods and expert searching practices. Explore emerging tools, resources, and methods for evidence synthesis support, including establish support for an evidence synthesis tool and integration of Artificial Intelligence into research.
  • Collaborate across library units to ensure seamless support for research projects (e.g., public services, digital scholarship, open access, collections).
  • Serve as the liaison librarian for assigned departments determined by incumbent’s expertise and department needs and provide information literacy instruction and consults for these departments as well as other Research & Outreach Services initiatives.
