This full-time, 10-month position involves applying the Alaska Manual of Legislative Drafting standards, training staff, and organizing electronic filing, with collaboration across sections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English or an equivalent combination with three years of related experience.
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and formatting skills following the Alaska Manual of Legislative Drafting.
  • Ability to handle confidential and politically sensitive work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Edit bills, amendments, and resolutions drafted by legislative attorneys.
  • Review drafts for grammar, accuracy, clarity, organization, and statutory fit.
  • Train, supervise, and provide guidance to bill production staff.
  • Organize and file documents electronically and manage workflow.
  • Ensure proper enrollment of legislation and update related manuals.
