Job summary

Alvin ISD is seeking an Assistant Lead Custodian to support the Leads at its high schools. The role includes training incoming custodians and assisting under-performing staff, with flexibility to cover other campuses as needed.

Ideal candidates will have five years of custodial experience and a valid Texas driver's license, and must be able to rotate between schools as required.

Primary Purpose: The Assistant Lead Custodian will be required to assist the Leads in their assigned High Schools. Will be able to train new custodians and support in training under-performing custodians. As an Assistant Lead, they should be flexible and cover other Leads in the different schools when needed.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Texas Driver's License

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Demonstrate leadership ability in working in a custodial department.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must be able to rotate school/campus when needed.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work well with diverse employee groups.
• Ability to demonstrate organization skills.
• Ability to read and understand/teach instructions for cleaning and safety procedures.

Strong knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions associated with the work.

Knowledge of minor repair techniques on custodial equipment. Ability to teach/operate cleaning equipment. Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies and maintain custodial inventory

Experience: Five years' experience in a related field.
