Job summary

Toll Brothers, America's leading luxury home builder, seeks an Assistant Land Development Manager to entitle, develop, and dedicate site improvements for our Reston, Virginia communities. This on-site role supports field and office operations and reports to the Land Development team.

You will assist with estimating, budgeting, schedules, and bid analysis, coordinating with contractors, government agencies, and HOA’s, with a focus on timely project completion and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Analytical thinking to collect, sort and analyze data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across levels.
  • Understanding of construction drawings and site plans.
  • Self-starter who identifies problems and solves them.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of daily land development field operations.
  • Assist in managing contractors and monitor progress.
  • Participate in meetings with government agencies, inspectors, and HOAs.
  • Organize land development work with homebuilding operations.
  • Support project dedication and bond release activities.

Toll Brothers, America's Leading Luxury Home Builder, seeks an Assistant Land Development Manager to entitle, develop, and dedicate site improvements for our new luxury communities around Reston, Virginia.

What is the opportunity?

The Assistant Land Development Manager will assist in the estimating, budgeting, development and dedication of site improvements for our communities.

This position is on-site 5 days per week.

What are the primary responsibilities?

  • Field Operations
    • Oversight of daily land development field operations
    • Assist in managing contractors, verifying work completed/monitoring progress
    • Participate in meetings with government agencies/inspectors/HOA’s
    • Organizing land development work with homebuilding operations
    • Project dedication and bond release work support
  • Office Operations
    • Assist in the development/maintenance/management of project development schedules
    • Assist in the development of budgets
    • Invoice review/coding, issuing Purchase Orders & Change Orders
    • Help in the analysis of bids/contracts/change orders
    • Project Due Diligence efforts (entitlements & approvals, development schedules & budgets)
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You have experience demonstrating the following knowledge and skills:

  • Competencies:
    • Analytical Thinking: Able to collect, sort and analyze data: Advanced

    • Construction Drawing Comprehension: Advanced
    • Initiative: A self-starter, able to identify problems and solve them: Advanced
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Scheduling Software: Intermediate
    • Microsoft Office Suite: Intermediate
    • Entitlements/Due Diligence – Intermediate

Do you have these qualifications?

  • Essential:
    • 3+ years’ experience in Land Development Management
    • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
    • Value engineering
    • Ability to improvise/adapt/overcome obstacles
    • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
    • EIT or Professional Engineering License

The salary for this position is $58,261 - $90,850 plus an annual bonus program and a monthly gas, auto, and mobile device allowance.
