Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-bed acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking a Lab Assistant for our Laboratory Department. This is a part-time, 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Clinical Lab Director.
The Laboratory Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collecting blood samples from all age groups including neonates, performing front and back office procedures, data entry into computer systems, basic lab test processing, setting up microbiology cultures, and sending out samples to reference labs. The Laboratory Assistant must organize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize duties for routine and stat testing, maintain customer service standards, work independently, and have a flexible schedule that includes graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays.
