Assistant Laboratory Manager - Generalist

Position Overview

The Assistant Laboratory Manager supervises daily laboratory activities and personnel, including writing procedures, employee scheduling, laboratory inspections, Quality Control, new instrument setup, proficiency testing, employee evaluations, disciplinary coaching, and other special assignments. They recommend personnel for hiring and termination, perform clinical laboratory testing when routine load warrants 50% of the time, assist with employee training and competency, assume responsibilities of the manager in their absence, and help with budget preparation.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biologic Science.
• Four (4) years of current/related clinical laboratory experience.
• MLS/MT (ASCP, AMT, HEW, or equivalent) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory and/or Senior Technologist experience in the laboratory or clinical setting.

Work Schedule

37.50 hours/week, Monday - Friday (7:30 am - 4 pm), with coverage for weekends as needed.
