Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking a lab support technician for a 6-month assignment in Fremont. You will clean and stock labware, prepare buffers, perform filtrations, and maintain batch records in a cGMP environment.

The role requires 2–4 years in a lab setting, strong communication, and proficiency with Outlook/Excel/Word. Physical effort includes lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AA degree preferred.

• Experience in a cGMP facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean labware per cGMP/SOPs and operate labware washing equipment.
• Stock and organize cleaned labware for Formulations usage.
• Maintain daily logs in accordance with cGMP and GDP.
• Perform filtrations with pumps and related equipment.
• Prepare buffers and stock solutions; complete batch records.
• Weigh, transfer and mix chemicals as required.
• Participate in daily/weekly sustaining activities for the lab.
• Keep supervisor updated on issues and stock levels.
• Assist in reordering supplies and labware maintenance.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Description:

Supports laboratory functions for Bulk Formulations. Includes cleaning, preparing and stocking labware for manufacturing use. Perform filtrations as well as buffer/stock preparation.

A day in the Life:

• Clean all labware for the facility according to cGMP and SOPs; includes operation of GMP labware washing equipment.
• Stock and organize cleaned labware for Formulations use ensuring constant supply.
• Maintain daily logs in accordance with cGMP and GDP.
• Perform filtrations using pumps and other equipment.
• Manufacture buffers and stock solutions used in formulations; complete batch records following SOPs.
• Weighing, transfer, mixing of chemicals required.
• Participate in continuous improvement including daily/weekly sustaining activities for the lab environment.
• Keep department lead or manager updated on all issues.
• Monitor stocks of common lab supplies; help reorder items as needed including broken or worn labware.
• Perform other job duties as required.

Keys to Success:

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• AA degree preferred

Experience

• 2-4 years experience preferred, preferably in a laboratory setting
• Experience working in a cGMP facility preferred.
• Experience working in a lab environment a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Certificate in Biotechnology or related a plus.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and focused. Good customer service skills.
• Can follow procedures carefully.
• Computer/software skills (Outlook, Excel and Word)

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Controlled Substance Handling: This role involves the handling, management, and oversight of controlled substances. The role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines on controlled substances.
• Exposure to Controlled Substances: The role may be exposed to controlled substances during their duties. Proper safety protocols and protective measures will be provided and must be strictly followed.
• Safety Protocols: Ability to adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Background Check: Successful completion of a background check, including screening for any history related to controlled substances.
• Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hrs).
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs occasionally
