Coma Coffee Roasters in Overland, Missouri is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to help oversee daily kitchen operations, manage staff, and keep the line moving during dinner rush.

You’ll lead by example, train new hires, maintain health and safety standards, and collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to ensure top-quality dishes and a positive, efficient work environment. This role offers flexible scheduling and growth opportunities within a dynamic, coffee-forward kitchen.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team-first mentality.
• Experience in a high-volume kitchen.
• Ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Past kitchen management or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Kitchen Manager - Help oversee kitchen operations, manage staff, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Lead by example - Jump on the line, expedite when needed, and set the standard for quality and efficiency.
• Ensure top-notch food quality - Make sure every plate that leaves the kitchen meets our standards.
• Train and mentor the team - Help new hires learn the ropes and keep the crew motivated.
• Stay organized and problem-solve - Keep inventory in check, manage prep lists, and tackle any issues that come your way.
• Maintain health and safety standards - A clean and safe kitchen is a happy kitchen.
