Job summary

Hutch Kids Early Learning Center in Seattle is hiring an Assistant Infant Teacher to support and help implement classroom curricula and take on a leadership role when lead teachers are out. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:30 pm, 40 hours weekly, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Candidates should have a WA State Initial ECE Certificate (or be enrolled), at least 1 year of relevant experience, and be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must have Washington State Initial ECE Certificate or be willing to enroll in school.
• Minimum of 1 year teaching experience with young children.
• Lift up to 35 lbs unassisted and be able to bend, stand, climb.
• Negative TB test within the past year.
• MMR vaccinations or immunity proof.
• Current flu vaccine and DCYF background check.
• Current First Aid/CPR and Blood-born pathogen certificate.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.

Job description

Hutch Kids Early Learning Center provides education and care for infants, toddlers, and preschool aged children. We are seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Infant Teacher.

At Hutch Kids, we construct a child-centered, developmentally appropriate, emergent curriculum that encourages children's growth and development, including their self-confidence, spontaneity, curiosity, and self-discipline.

As a whole and within each classroom, we consider ourselves a community of learners. Support teachers work center-wide, covering lead and assistant teachers for planning time, meetings, and PTO. Support teachers form supportive, positive relationships with children of all ages. Low classroom ratios allow for the development of secure, lasting relationships between children, teachers, and families. Hutch Kids is accredited by NAEYC and participates in Early Achievers.

Strong candidates will be patient and professional, with a child-centered philosophy of how children learn and grow. Must be a team player and love all children. Must have a Washington State Initial ECE Certificate (or be willing to enroll in school) and a minimum of 1-year teaching experience with young children. As an Early Achievers participating center, our faculty have access to scholarships and grants that cover their entire tuition for Early Childhood Education programs at local colleges.

• This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Salary for this position is $25.18/hour.
