The Goddard School located in The Greater Heights is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher for Assistant Infant and Younger Toddler roles. Join a nurturing team and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum while leading daily activities and collaborating with staff.

The position offers a full-time, year-round schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:00am-6:00pm) with growth opportunities and a starting salary range of $33,150 - $39,780.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
• 2-3 years of previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
• Has successfully completed state-required pre-service training

Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities; Foster a love of learning; Observe and assess children's development.
• Classroom Management: Create a safe, nurturing classroom; Manage daily routines; Address behavioral issues with positive guidance.
• Family Communication: Maintain open communication with parents; Conduct conferences; Encourage family involvement.
• Health and Safety: Ensure classroom cleanliness; Adhere to safety guidelines; Supervise activities for safety.

Lead Teacher Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum and Instruction:
   • Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
   • Foster a love of learning through creative and engaging teaching methods
   • Observe and assess children's development and adjust activities accordingly
2. Classroom Management:
   • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
   • Manage daily routines and transitions smoothly
   • Address behavioral issues with positive guidance and support
3. Family Communication:
   • Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and daily activities
   • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide regular updates
   • Encourage family involvement and participation in school activities
4. Health and Safety:
   • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and common areas
   • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures
   • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being
5. Professional Development:
   • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
   • Stay current with best practices in early childhood education
   • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share ideas and strategies
