Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help keep our Texas plant running smoothly. You will service balers, conveyors, motors, and related equipment, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and support continuous production. The role requires clean safety practices, ability to handle physical workloads, and flexibility for night/weekend shifts.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of maintenance experience, U.S. work authorization, and pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant equipment including balers, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, belts, pulleys, shafts and bearings.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose/repair major equipment and components.
• Keep the Daily Equipment Inspections backlog up to date and complete repairs within standard times.
• Adjust procedures to meet production schedules; escalate when additional work is needed.
• Inspect quality of repairs by third parties and recommend improvements.
• Multitask and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls and work with limited supervision.
• Adhere to safety policies and OSHA requirements; maintain a clean work area.
• May involve night and weekend shifts to meet operations needs.
• Ensure work complies with Waste Management Safety standards.
• Perform work with high standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Each day, you'll play a key role in keeping our plant running at its best, maintaining everything from balers and conveyor belts to gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM) and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components, including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro‑magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front‑end loaders, and building equipment.
• Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog.
• Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
• Inspect the quality of third‑party repairs and rebuilds.
• Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Multitask and manage multiple priorities with efficiency.
• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
• Perform work with limited supervision while maintaining high standards of performance.
• Be flexible with your work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to meet operational needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and ensure all work is completed according to safety procedures.
• Perform repairs in line with Waste Management Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA requirements.
