Position Type/ Work Schedule: 2080 Hours per year, 12 Months per year, 40 Hours per week (Estimated)

About Us

Colorado College ("CC") is a private, four-year, highly selective liberal arts college of 2,300 undergraduate students with a small Master of Arts in teaching program. Located on a 99-acre campus in Colorado Springs, near downtown and Pikes Peak, the college employs the Block Plan academic schedule and sponsors 17 varsity programs, including NCAA Division III and I teams.

Job Summary

Work closely with the Head Ice Technician & Building Operations Coordinator to ensure an exceptional NCAA Division I ice surface and assist with arena changeovers for events. Hours include weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with creating and maintaining high-quality ice surfaces, including depth readings, ice level adjustments, and temperature coordination.
  • Supervise student staff and part-time personnel involved in arena operations.
  • Install, repair, and maintain hockey glass and dasher boards.
  • Perform general building and equipment maintenance to enhance arena experience.
  • Lead equipment rental programs, including maintenance and repair of skating and hockey equipment.
  • Ensure facility safety, security, cleanliness, and emergency response readiness.
  • Coordinate facility usage and event setup/takedown for various events and rentals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma plus specialized training, including Certified Ice Technician certification, and two years of related experience.
  • Ability to maintain and repair ice resurfacers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds, and work in noisy, icy, or dusty conditions with chemicals.
  • Good judgment, organizational skills, and discretion with sensitive information.
Other Details

This position does not supervise others and does not involve driving CC vehicles.
