The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking an Assistant Human Resources Manager in Springfield, IL. This hybrid role supports the Deputy Director on sensitive human resources matters and serves as a key HR leader, including acting as Human Resources Manager and providing full line supervision. You will also represent the Deputy Director and the Department at administrative and programmatic meetings, helping coordinate meetings and events as needed.
Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Researches issues and compiles information in response to inquiries related to human resources documents, files, and records
- Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the enumerated responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college
- Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or private organization in the field of human resources
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of professional experience providing high level professional assistance to the human resources director of a public or private organization
- Three years of coordinating, supervising, or conducting recruitment events for a public or private organization
- Two years of experience supervising staff in an office setting
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or public administration
- Three years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity for a public or private organization
- Three years of experience serving as a representative of their supervisor for a public or private organization
Compensation and Work Location
- Location: Springfield, IL (hybrid)
- Salary: USD 8,750 - 10,000 per month
