Job summary

LSSI in Illinois is seeking a Property Manager to oversee resident recertifications, leasing activities, and HUD compliance. The role supports Meadows Ridge and Prairie Ridge, and leads the team in the site manager's absence.

Strong organization, communication, and time management are essential. COS designation and leasing license are required or obtainable within set timeframes; a valid IL driver's license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 1–2 years of management/supervisory experience, or high school diploma with 3–5 years.
• COS designation or willingness to obtain within two years of hire.
• Leasing license or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to comprehend instructions, perform tasks, and maintain work pace.
• Clear, written and verbal communication skills.
• Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibilities of the Manager when the Manager is absent.
• Recertification of all residents, including annual apartment inspections, meeting REAC requirements.
• Assist with rent collection, reporting functions, leasing, marketing, and HUD/LSSI policies and procedures.
• Submit necessary reports, including recertifications and vacancy loss claims, timely and accurately.
• Support Meadows Ridge and Prairie Ridge locations.
• Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and integrity toward clients and colleagues.

Essential Functions:

• Assume responsibilities of the Manager when the Manager is absent.
• Responsible for recertification of all residents, including annual apartment inspections, meeting REAC requirements.
• Assist with rent collection, reporting functions, apartment leasing, marketing, and following policies and procedures established by HUD and LSSI.
• Ensure necessary reports, including but not limited to re-certifications and vacancy loss claims, are submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
• Support both locations: Meadows Ridge and Prairie Ridge (across the street from each other)
• Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Position Qualifications:

• Associates degree with one (1) to two (2) years of management/supervisory experience required.
• Or high school diploma or equivalent with three (3) to five (5) years of management/supervisory experience required.
• Must possess the Certified Occupancy Specialist Designation (COS) or willingness to obtain within two (2) years of hire.
• Minimum Leasing License or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum number of years management/supervisory experience is dependent on education level.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow instructions, perform assigned tasks, and maintain appropriate work pace.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
• Background check clearance required.
• Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.
