Job description

Position Overview: Assists with overseeing daily operations functions of staff and the people we support.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Accompanies supported person on appointments, providing medical personnel with all appropriate information.
  • Implements prescribed/recommended treatments in accordance with regulations and agency policies.
  • Informs supervisor of all developments within the program, especially emergency situations.
  • Completes follow-up activities promptly as requested.
  • Fosters positive, professional relationships with supported persons, staff, parents, and advocates.
  • Ensures adequate food supply at all times.
  • Maintains cleanliness of houses and ensures staff complete necessary paperwork, including shift checklists.
  • Supports persons in accordance with Person-Centered Plan, Behavior Support Plan (if applicable), and Nursing Care Plan.
  • Checks and responds to emails daily to maintain communication.
  • Obtains and maintains Medication Administration Certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • Administers and documents medications via eMAR, following state and agency requirements, including DDA nursing delegation model.
  • Completes required trainings such as CPR/First-Aid, Mandt System, certified medication technician course, and recertifications.
  • Participates in all scheduled meetings.
  • Utilizes agency electronic systems for communication, time and attendance, notes, incident reports, etc.
  • Encourages decision-making, self-help activities, and daily planning.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor or director.

Education: High School Diploma required; AA or BA/BS preferred.

Training and Experience: At least two years of supervisory or peer training; experience with people with IDD/DD preferred.

Other: Must have a valid driver’s license and meet driving requirements.

Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, sit for up to 8 hours, lift 50 lbs or more, and demonstrate all Mandt physical interventions.
