Job summary

Watervliet Public Schools is seeking a Wrestling Coach to support the district's wrestling program. The role involves working with fellow coaches, creating engaging practice plans, enforcing MHSAA/WPS rules, and maintaining a current roster while ensuring player safety and positive communication with students, parents, and staff.

The position supports the athletic program across the district and requires attendance at coaches' meetings and potential varsity scouting.

Qualifications

• Sport-specific participation is required.
• Coaching experience is preferred.
• CAP Level 1 completion is preferred.
• CPR / AED is required or must be obtained upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside all coaches in the wrestling program.
• Create an engaging practice plan that aligns with the program vision.
• Enforce all rules of the MHSAA and WPS.
• Communicate in a timely and appropriate manner to students, parents, athletic director, and other coaches.
• Assist the head coach in maintaining an accurate team roster at all times.
• Supervise practice sessions and maintain locker room security.
• Follow all injury and player safety protocols.
• Support the entire athletic program of the Watervliet Public School system.
• Attend all coaches' meetings.
• Assist with scouting for the varsity team if necessary.
