Assistant Health & Beauty/General Merchandise Manager

Position Objective: To assist customers in their shopping experience by leading the HBC/GM team in a way that promotes growth for the company and delivers the product and service Cosentino’s customers expect.

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the HBC/GM Manager.

Status: Non-exempt position.

Knowledge

Essential Knowledge: Completion of ongoing training as listed on the Casentino Learning Plan.

Non-Essential Knowledge: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Essential Job Functions

• Supervise team activities effectively, motivating and respecting team members.
• Promote a positive team atmosphere with cooperation, high morale, and recognition.
• Address employee relations issues, collaborating with HR as needed.
• Manage inventory through counting, verifying merchandise, and inspecting deliveries.
• Practice product rotation to monitor dates and enforce quality control.
• Promote sales and profits through advertising and specials.
• Be knowledgeable about department items to answer customer questions courteously.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve management when necessary.
