The Granite YMCA in New Hampshire is seeking an Assistant Group Leader to support our School Age Childcare team. This role helps deliver high-quality programming that meets YMCA standards and NH licensing requirements, with flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth.

This position involves assisting with daily activities, supervising children, and collaborating with the Site Director to ensure a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Experience working with children in a childcare, camp, or school setting preferred.
• Ability to engage and supervise groups of children in a structured environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, patient, and energetic approach to youth development.

Responsibilities

• Support daily program operations in alignment with YMCA standards and NH state licensing requirements.
• Provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for youth.
• Build positive relationships with participants, families, and staff; actively supervise at all times.
• Lead and participate in activities, including setup, snack distribution, and cleanup.
• Assist with attendance tracking, headcounts, and behavior management.
• Model YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies following YMCA procedures.
• Collaborate with the Site Director and team to support program quality and communication.
• Support extended programming such as school vacations, snow days, and family engagement events.
• Demonstrate flexibility and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.
