Job summary

The Town of Concord is seeking an Assistant Group Leader for the After School Program within the Concord Recreation School Age Childcare Programs. You will assist the Group Leader and Site Coordinator in nurturing and developing children in grades K-5, while maintaining an engaging, structured learning environment.

Responsibilities include implementing the curriculum, planning activities, assisting with snacks and transitions, and upholding health plans and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with children in grades K-5.
• Knowledge of child development and teaching strategies.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement curriculum and meet the social-emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of the children.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for all students and staff.
• Assist with weekly activity plans with site coordinator and group leaders.
• Assist with snacks, mealtimes, clean-up, and transitions.
• Provide positive role-modeling and behavior guidance when needed.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development training as required.
• Participate in conferences/workshops for growth and professional goals.
• Follow health plans and required training (e.g., EPI pen, insulin pump).
• Adhere to program policies, emergencies, medication, and referrals.
• Operate the site in compliance with EEC regulations and DESE standards.
