Job description

Favor International
Assistant Grant Manager
Contract/Remote

Favor International is a dedicated and passionate non-profit organization that transforms lives. Our vision is “Transformed hearts, Transform nations,” and our mission is to strive to create lasting change through the power of the Gospel, mobilized prayer and discipleship, leadership development, local community-based problem solving, and public/private cooperation. Our indigenous leaders help to transform unreached and underserved communities and nations of Africa. As we continue to grow and expand our reach, we are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to assist our Grant Services Director in raising funds to grow God’s Kingdom through the ministries of Favor International.

THE OPPORTUNITY

To further the vision of impacting communities for Christ in Uganda, South Sudan, Chad, and other nations in Northern Africa, Favor International is seeking a seasoned and responsible Grant Writer who will join our Grant Services Director in carrying out the responsibilities of research, writing grant applications, preparing supportive documents, writing grant reports, and maintaining accurate records related to grant opportunities, submissions, grants received, and reports. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience and success in securing grants for nonprofit organizations, takes the initiative in identifying new prospective foundations, have familiarity with donor software systems and/or grant software management, strong organizational and communication skills, and a deep commitment to our mission and faith in Jesus Christ.

This is a unique opportunity for an individual to contribute to the success of a non-profit making a real difference in lives. The Assistant Grant Writer will report to the Grant Services Director and the US Director of Operations.

Organizational History and Background

Favor International was birthed through prayer in 2003 by Ugandans and founder Carole Ward, a third-generation American missionary, amid a civil war led by Joseph Kony and the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). Favor was established to witness God's transformation of indigenous leaders and people in Northern Africa. Through the miraculous spread of the Gospel, discipleship, and mobilized public prayer movements, the once unconquerable child soldier armies of the LRA self-evacuated, leading to an uneasy peace by 2006. The LRA’s highest general, who converted to Christianity and attended Favor’s Bible school, credited one of Favor’s specific prayer gatherings for ending the war.

Favor International works among unreached and underserved people groups to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, followed by training, discipling, and empowering new believers and their communities. As a Christian organization, Favor International provides spiritual and Biblical guidance, humanitarian relief, and educational and economic development.

We engage indigenous leaders within communities to become pastors and missionaries. Favor is committed to working with children, families, and communities throughout 10 African Nations. Through the power of the Gospel, we mobilize prayer, evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, local community-based problem-solving, and public/private cooperation to bring about transformation in the unreached and underserved communities across Africa.
