Job summary

Tobacco Road Golf Club in Sanford, NC is seeking an energetic Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team under Troon. The role supports daily golf department operations, tee sheet management, guest services, and staff leadership.

The ideal candidate is a PGA member or Associate, with strong tee sheet knowledge, merchandising experience, and a willingness to work weekends and peak hours.

Qualifications

• PGA of America membership or active PGA Associate preferred.
• Experience in golf operations at a high-volume public, resort, or private facility.
• Strong understanding of tee sheet management and golf operations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience in golf retail/merchandising preferred.
• Comfort with golf technology and POS systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and extended hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation of the Golf Department and tee sheet management.
• Deliver exceptional guest arrival, check-in, and service.
• Coordinate with starter, outside operations, shop, maintenance, and F&B.
• Lead staff and mentor golf professionals and outside operations staff.
• Help supervise merchandising and inventory.
• Step into a leadership role when the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional is unavailable.
