OGM is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional for the City of Toledo Courses (Ottawa Park) to manage day-to-day operations and provide exceptional golf experiences. This role involves hospitality, managing the tee sheet, and offering instruction through lessons and clinics.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, previous experience in retail or golf operations, and a passion for customer service. The position is Full-Time, Seasonal with a pay range of $20.00 - $21.00 per hour, plus potential for lesson revenue.
Ottawa Park is an historic municipal 18-hole golf facility located in Toledo, Ohio. It was built in 1899 by Toledo’s “Father of Golf” - S. P. Jermain - and redesigned in 1977 by Arthur Hills. It is the oldest public golf course west of New York City. Ottawa Park continues to grow its presence in the area and with its rich history, is a destination for those traveling.

The Assistant Golf Professional will take a hands‑on role in the day-to-day golf operations, partnering closely with the General Manager/Head Golf Professional to deliver exceptional golf experiences. The core responsibilities include driving hospitality, managing the tee sheet, offering instruction through lessons and clinics, and coordinating staff training and scheduling. The Assistant Golf Professional will have an important role in assisting with golf shop operations, organizing tournaments and events, and directing support staff while enforcing policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards. Golf instruction is a valued part of the role and can factor into your compensation.
Ability to work at a fast pace with frequent disruption
Ability to utilize modern technologies (ex. Microsoft Office, POS systems, social media and programs in managing workplace procedures)
Comprehension of golf operations, tee sheet management, golf outings, leagues, golf merchandise, and membership
High school diploma or higher
Previous experience in retail environments and golf course operation is preferred, along with general knowledge of golf. Previous experience in management preferred.
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour with potential for lesson revenue up to $5,000
