Job summary

Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, FL seeks an Assistant Golf Professional to support coaching, player development, club fitting, and golf operations. This role integrates elite coaching with club services to deliver a world-class experience for members and guests.

The ideal candidate is an PGA member or associate with knowledge of USGA rules, a passion for junior golf, and a professional presence. On-site role with responsibilities across sessions, inventory, and tournaments.

Qualifications

• PGA member or associate required.
• Knowledge of USGA rules and handicap system.
• Interest or experience in junior coaching.
• Willingness to learn club fitting/building.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Maintains playing ability with handicap around 4.
• Represents the club professionally.
• Supports all areas of golf operations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coaching & player development.
• Assist in junior golf programs (ages 5–13).
• Lead select sessions and coordinate staff scheduling.
• Support development of players aged 11–13.
• Track player performance and provide on-course coaching.
• Run weekly junior competitions (Operation 36 & 18-hole divisions).
• Assist with clinics, lessons, and player development initiatives.
• Club fitting, building & equipment services.
• Assist with custom fittings.
• Perform grip installs.
• Verify club specifications and quality control.
• Communicate with members regarding equipment orders.
• Support inventory management.
• Golf operations & member services.
• Assist with tee time bookings and member services.
• Support tournament operations.
• Maintain shop merchandising and inventory.
• Process sales and merchandise.
• Enforce club policies (pace of play, dress code).
• Engage with members to enhance experience.
• Administration & facility support.
• Assist with monthly inventory coordination.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to work in hot conditions for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.

• Must have ability to work in hot and muggy conditions on continuous basis.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
• Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English..
