Job summary

Wachesaw Club in Murrells Inlet, SC seeks a proactive Golf Operations Intern to deliver exceptional member service and support the shop and operations teams. You will mentor interns, assist in events, manage merchandise, and help run clinics and junior programs while ensuring a professional atmosphere.

You will also participate in ranger duties, fleet management, and driving range operations, promoting enthusiasm among members and guests.

Qualifications

• Provide exceptional customer service to members and their guests.
• Mentor Golf Operations Interns, Shop Assistants and Outside Services team.
• Maintain active PGA of America membership as part of professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Mentor interns and shop staff; assist in merchandise management and displays.
• Run Club events and the Annual Golf Events Schedule; assist in promotions.
• Provide golf instruction and clinics per Head Golf Professional guidelines.
• Develop and coordinate junior and family golf programming.
• Play golf with members to promote enthusiasm and engagement.
• Manage rental clubs, demo clubs, and fitting equipment.
• Interpret and enforce golf rules; assist in golf operations fleet management.
• Support driving range and short game facility operations.

Job description

-5 Day workweek, 38-46 hours per week.
-Provide exceptional customer service to the members and their guests at all times.
-Mentor Golf Operations Interns, Shop Assistants and Outside Services team.
-Assist in the management of Joe Gagliano’s Golf Shop with purchases, receipts, displays, inventory control, promotion and sale of merchandise.
-Provide a positive and professional working atmosphere that encourages excellence.
-Control and manage play by performing ranger duties when needed; ensures guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the Outside Services Staff.
-Assist in running the Club’s Annual Golf Events Schedule, proficient with Golf Genius.
-Provide golf instruction and clinics that are consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures established by the Head Golf Professional.
-Assist the Head Golf Professional in developing and growing the Club’s Junior Golf Program; develop and coordinate all junior and family golf programming.
-Play golf with Club members and their guests to generate enthusiasm.
-Manage the rental clubs, demo clubs & fitting equipment.
-Interpret and enforce golf rules and regulations.
-Assist in the management the Club Car fleet and golf operations service vehicles.
-Assist in management of the driving range and short game facility.
-Maintain a neat and organized work space.
-Attend appropriate departmental staff meetings.
-Represent themselves to the membership and within the community in a professional manner consistent with the brand that Wachesaw represents.
-Consistently complies with the rules and regulations stated in the Club’s Employee Handbook.
-Maintain an active membership in the PGA of America.
-Encouraged to participate in Chapter, Sectional and National PGA programs.
