Lakeside Country Club, a premier private club near Houston, TX, seeks an experienced Head Golf Professional to lead daily operations and drive member engagement. You’ll deliver lessons, manage outside services, and coordinate tournaments while upholding club standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day golf operations.
• Provide golf lessons to members and guests.

• Conduct junior clinics and training programs.
• Collect charges for golf activities.
• Assist with club tournaments and events.
• Enforce golf rules, club policies and regulations.
• Represent the club at local, state, or national events with approval.
• Maintain records of rounds and statistics.
• Serve as marshal for tournaments as needed.
• Adhere to health, safety, and employment laws.
• Assist with outside service personnel management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

Founded in 1951, Lakeside Country Club is considered among the top private clubs in Texas. The club has a rich history and holds a prominent position in the lives of its membership. Situated on 206 acres, just twelve miles from downtown Houston, the club has completed a total Golf Course and Practice Area renovation by Jay Blasi in 2023. Additionally, a new Clubhouse--including Golf Shop & Cart Storage--was constructed in 2020.

Lakeside provides their members with world class services, which include a professionally managed golf facility, a challenging and well maintained 18-hole golf course, an extensive practice area and teaching facility, a 5-hole short course (The Hutch), a first-rate Golf Shop retail environment, and numerous golf tournaments and events throughout the course of the year. There are approximately 40,000 rounds of golf per annum with active practice and teaching facilities.

Essential Responsibilities

• Leads the operation on a day-to-day basis.
• Provides Golf Lessons to members and guests.
• Manages outside services through consistent communication and contact.
• Plays golf with members of all skill-levels to generate enthusiasm.
• Conducts Junior Clinics and Training Programs
• Collects charges and fees for golf-related activities
• Assists with Club Tournaments and related events
• Interprets and enforces golf rules and regulations; club policies, rules and regulations
• Represents the club in area professional events including local, state, or national events with the approval of the golf committee
• Maintains records relating to player and guest rounds and other statistics
• Serves as marshals for tournaments and at other times as determined by the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional
• Adheres to all federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety, and employment
• Assists with the outside service personnel management responsibilities
• Performs other duties as assigned
