Job summary

Kennett Square Golf & Country Club is seeking an experienced Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team. You will collaborate with the Superintendent to maintain our historic 18-hole course to the highest standards.

The role requires leadership, strong turfgrass knowledge, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays. We offer a positive work environment, competitive compensation, and benefits including health insurance and retirement plan.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management or related field.
• 2–3 years of golf course maintenance experience.
• Leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Ability to identify turf diseases, pests, and issues.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexible hours, including weekends/holidays.
• Driver’s License and PA Pesticide Applicator’s License or ability to obtain within six months.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and supervision of all golf course maintenance activities.
• Supervise and train a crew of groundskeepers to maintain standards and safety.
• Oversee daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers.
• Maintain and use irrigation systems as needed.
• Assist with inventory and application of pesticides and fertilizers.
