Salary: $65K - $75K, dependent on experience

Job Purpose

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under supervision, the Assistant oversees maintenance of the golf course, supervises staff, and may serve as acting superintendent in their absence.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in daily operations of the golf course.
  • Supervise and train seasonal staff to foster a team environment.
  • Prepare weekly employee schedules for optimal efficiency.
  • Monitor course health, including disease, moisture, turf decline, and pests.
  • Apply pesticides and fertilizers, calibrate equipment, document applications, and manage inventory.
  • Manage irrigation scheduling, repair, and maintenance of Toro systems with Osmac controllers and Lynx OS.
  • Properly hand-water turf as needed.
  • Work approximately 40-55 hours weekly, including every third weekend during golf season.
  • Perform winter outdoor tasks such as snow removal.
  • Participate in weekly staff and member meetings.
  • Conduct weekly safety and presentation inspections.
  • Operate within Hampton Golf policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of golf course maintenance, turf practices, planting, fertilization, pest control, drainage, and irrigation systems.
  • Ability to schedule, supervise, and report effectively.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Current pesticide applicator certification or licensing may be required.
  • CGCS & Class A certification preferred.
