Job summary

Talbot Country Club on Maryland's Eastern Shore seeks an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent through Golf Business Network. The role emphasizes supervising a year-round crew, turf management decisions and strong irrigation oversight at a private club with an 18-hole course, practice facility and full maintenance program.

You will help with construction planning, budgeting and vendor coordination, while gearing toward a future superintendent career.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience with training and accountability required.
• Ability to work with a Spanish-speaking crew required.
• Pesticide and fertilizer application experience preferred.
• Maryland applicator license or ability to obtain within 120 days preferred.
• Strong irrigation and moisture management knowledge needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily crew organization, assignments and quality checks with Superintendent and fellow Assistant.
• Set up the course for daily play, shotgun starts, tournaments and events.
• Manage moisture, hand watering and agronomic decisions for turf types.
• Operate, troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems as needed.
• Calibrate equipment and apply fertilizers, pesticides and PGRs with records.
• Collaborate with Superintendent, architect and contractors on projects.
