About Palmetto Bluff and Anson Point

Palmetto Bluff is a distinctive 20,000-acre community nestled between the May, New and Cooper Rivers in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, between Hilton Head Island and Savannah. The property is home to an exceptional collection of recreational and lifestyle amenities, including the Palmetto Bluff Golf Club, marina, equestrian center, racquet facilities, restaurants, nature preserve, and vibrant village.

Anson Point, designed by acclaimed golf course architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, represents a distinctive expression of golf at Palmetto Bluff. Rooted in traditional golf architecture and with the core values of our Conservancy Team. The course features strategic playing corridors, natural contours, native vegetation, maritime forests, grand live oaks, and salt marsh vistas.

The golf course's maintained turfgrass footprint includes approximately 55 acres of Zeon Zoysia, 3.25 acres of TifEagle ultradwarf Bermuda greens and 60 acres of prescribed burned forestry management areas. These playing surfaces require thoughtful agronomic management to deliver consistent conditions while preserving the architectural integrity and natural character of the course.

Anson Point offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the long‑term care and presentation of a distinctive golf experience where exceptional playing conditions, sound agronomic practices, and environmental stewardship work together.

Job Summary

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists in the daily leadership, management, and maintenance of Anson Point Golf Course. This position plays a key role in implementing agronomic programs, maintaining exceptional playing conditions, preserving the architectural intent of the Coore & Crenshaw design, enhancing a culture of strong leadership and supporting the long‑term health of the golf course and its surrounding natural environment.

Working collaboratively with the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent helps plan and execute daily maintenance operations, develop and supervise the grounds team, manage irrigation and water resources, monitor turf health, and maintain accurate operational and environmental records.

The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented turfgrass professional who understands the relationship between golf course conditioning, strategic design, and natural landscape management. This individual takes pride in developing people, maintaining high standards, and delivering consistent playing conditions while respecting the minimalist design philosophy and ecological character that distinguish Anson Point.
