Position: Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach

School: Albemarle High School

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous volleyball coaching experience, especially at middle and high school age levels.
• Previous experience working with adolescents.
• Flexibility in schedule to attend practices between 4:30–6:30 M-F and later on game nights.
• Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
• Organized individual with effective communication skills.
• Comfortable with Google Suite and all electronic communication.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations; ability to develop and train AA student-athletes; positive relations with high school student-athletes, parents and the community; extensive knowledge of the principles of individual and team fundamentals of the listed sports; ability to organize and prepare practice schedules; discipline that emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship. Previous coaching experience is required. Preference given to those eligible for a Virginia teaching license. Applicants must disclose prior convictions of law other than minor traffic violations or juvenile offenses. Information may be verified by work history, personal reference, or criminal record inquiries.

Physical Conditions and Nature of Work

Duties performed in school settings including gym and recreational areas. Frequent walking, standing, light lifting and other physical activities required. Daily close contact with student-athletes to provide instruction. Regular travel with student-athletes to and from matches. Regular contact with other coaches, administrators, parents and media.
