Job summary

York County Day School is seeking an Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach to support planning, conditioning, training and performance of student athletes for the girls’ basketball program. This role reports to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics and adheres to school and PIAA policies.

The assistant coach will help plan practices, coach individuals and groups, contribute to game strategy and conditioning efforts, and serve as a positive mentor within the school community.

Qualifications

• High school basketball coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain discipline and conduct of student athletes.
• Assist in planning and coaching practice sessions with varsity coach.
• Coach team members individually and in groups, demonstrate game techniques.
• Assist in developing and implementing game strategy and position assignments.

Position Summary

The Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at York Country DaySchool is responsible for assisting the planning and directing theconditioning, training, and performance of our student athletes,for our girls’ basketball program.

This position reports to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics.This assistant coaching position and all of the duties of theposition must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules,and regulations of York Country Day School and the PennsylvaniaInterscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).

Essential Functions

Experience and Education Required

Basketball coaching experience at a high school or equivalent ispreferred.
