Requirements

Education Level

BA/BS in Education preferred.

Experience Desired

Coaching and teaching experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, sit, and travel between locations.

Other Requirements

Fundamentals of Coaching or equivalent (must be completed once); Sports First Aid or Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or equivalent (renew every two years); Concussion in Sports - What You Need to Know (renew annually). High school/college participation preferred. Teaching assignment in building preferred.

Essential Functions & Duties

1. Assist in the direction and coordination of interscholastic athletics.
2. Work with the Head Coach to determine athlete participation during practices and games, including playing time.
3. Promote the athletic program positively within schools and the community.
4. Operate within conference and SDHSAA policies.
5. Maintain staff relationships with other coaches.
6. Assist with fundraising activities as needed.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
