Job summary

Stratford High School in Stratford Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary will be according to the SEA Agreement. The coach will lead the basketball program, build skills, and support student-athletes at Stratford High School.

Responsibilities include selecting the squad, planning practices, attending meetings, and ensuring safety in all athletic areas. Requires CT Coaching permit, CPR/First Aid, and Concussion Mod 15.

Qualifications

• CT Coaching permit is required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Concussion Mod 15 training is required.

Responsibilities

• Select the squad for the team.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice.
• Attend league, district and school staff meetings, sports awards programs and banquets.
• Oversee safety conditions of practice, game and locker room areas.
• Complete required paperwork and enforce eligibility/training rules.
• Explain and enforce eligibility rules, training rules and regulations.
• Assume responsibility for uniforms and equipment.

Assistant Boys Basketball Coach Stratford High School

School year: 2026-2027

Salary: Per SEA Agreement

Duties/Responsibilities: The Board of Education seeks an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach to coach individual participants in the sport skills necessary for achievement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, selecting the squad for the team; planning and scheduling a regular program of practice; attending league, district and school staff meetings, sports awards programs and banquets; overseeing the safety conditions of practice, game and locker room areas; completing required paperwork; explaining and enforcing eligibility rules, training rules and regulations; and assuming responsibility for uniforms and equipment. Requirements: Valid CT Coaching permit, Current CPR and First Aid certifications, Concussion Mod 15, CT
