Job summary

Equinox Fitness Club in Summit, NJ seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead Front Desk, Maintenance, and Kids’ club operations with a focus on member experience. You will hire, train, schedule, and evaluate staff while ensuring payroll budgets are met and brand standards are upheld.

In collaboration with the General Manager, you will drive ancillary department support, oversee safety and risk management, and guide monthly projections to achieve club goals.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of management experience in a customer-facing setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High touch customer service experience preferred.
• Financial management experience and budgeting knowledge.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Front Desk, Maintenance and Kids’ club teams to meet standards.
• Hire, train, and manage staff; develop schedules and control payroll budgets.
• Complete staff performance evaluations monthly and annually.
• Maintain supply budgets and monthly ordering timelines.
• Ensure exceptional member service and club safety.
• Support departments and sales with General Manager collaboration.
• Monitor monthly goals and projections; ensure cleanliness and risk controls.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Influence and inspire a dynamic work force
• Interview, hire, train, and manage Front Desk, Maintenance, and Kids’ club departments to meet the Equinox brand standards – assist departments in developing schedules and ensuring adherence to payroll budgets
• Complete staff performance evaluations monthly and annually
• Adhere to monthly ordering timeline and supply budgets
• Ensure a high-level of customer service to club members
• With partnership with General Manager, support ancillary departments and sales
• Awareness of monthly departmental goals and monthly projections
• Ensure cleanliness of club per Equinox’s company standard
• Ensure the club is following proper Risk Management and Loss Prevention procedures – Monitor safety and security of club
• Help facilitate all other projects or responsibilities as delegated by the General Manager
• Must be open to location reassignments – must be able to work flexible schedules dependent on the needs of the business

Pay Transparency:

This is a full time, salaried position compensated at $70,000-$75,000 annually

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates must have 3-6 years of management experience in a customer-facing, professional setting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High touch customer service experience preferred
• Effective time management and follow up skills
• Financial management experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Able to be mobile throughout the facility all day
