Job summary

Applegreen USA is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help run day-to-day operations at our travel plazas across the Northeast and Midwest. Our locations provide a mix of retail and food options from Auntie Ann’s, Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Cinnabon, Dunkin’s, Panda Express, Panera, Popeyes, Pret, Shake Shack, Starbucks, and more.

You will lead a team, maintain brand standards, manage guest services, safety and inventory, and partner with the General Manager to drive performance and memorable

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in quick-service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Flexible and open work schedule.
• Strong leadership and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Supervise non-management associates, assign work, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Perform duties in the absence of the General Manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during low morale.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure company policies and brand standards are followed.
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness, appearance, and brand standards.
• Accurately manage cash and process daily reports as directed.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues, building long-term relationships.
• Ensure inventory data is accurate through spot counts and checks.

What You’ll Do

The Assistant General Manager helps the General Manager to ensure day‑to‑day business operations run smoothly. This position provides an opportunity for entry‑level managers to learn important management skills and practice judgment and discretion.

Role Priorities And Responsibilities

• Confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Supervise non‑management associates, assign work, focus on store performance, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Competently perform duties in the absence of the General Manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during low morale.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintain awareness of all applicable brand standards and procedures to maximize brand, landlord, and labor relations.
• Maintain the restaurant’s cleanliness, appearance, and brand standards.
• Accurately manage cash and process daily reports as directed.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues, and build positive, long‑term relationships.
• Ensure inventory data is accurate through spot counts and checks.

Skills, Experience And Educational Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in quick‑service restaurant or similar management operations.

• Ability and willingness to lift or push objects weighing over 30 lbs.
