Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant General Manager at Dolphin Mall! The Assistant General Manager is the second highest ranking manager and assists in managing the day-to-day operations of the shopping center, overseeing specific operational functions and departments.

Your Responsibilities
  • Talent Management: Hire, train, coach and develop a management team that drives results through operational excellence.
  • Expense Management: Oversee the development and execution of all expense and revenue budgets, production of quarterly forecasts and monthly expense variance review, ensuring compliance with all company expense controls.
  • Facilities Management: Ensure facilities programs and practices are implemented consistent with Taubman standards. Produce a 10-year capital spending plan balancing financial objectives with building infrastructure needs.
  • Security/Emergency Management: Oversee property security functions to maintain a safe environment. Develop plans to minimize incidents and prepare for emergencies.
  • Revenue Generation: Drive local revenue generation through sponsorship deals and optimizing income streams.
  • External Communications: Serve as the center’s primary spokesperson with media outlets and local officials.
  • Administration: Ensure team members’ actions are consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Crisis Management: Lead efforts in managing local crisis situations, engaging the right authorities and resources.
  • Support the General Manager in achieving overall property results and performance.
  • Provide leadership to all staff at the center.
  • High-level decision making on issues or crisis situations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in operations management or similar role.
  • Retail or property management experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Financial acumen with ability to manage and forecast budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under short-term deadlines and stress.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as required.
Essential Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Ability to use a computer for long periods.
  • Ability to handle documents and files.
  • Good physical mobility required to move about the Center.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Audio and visual acuity is required.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally, as required.
