Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott – Shelton, CT is seeking a dynamic Assistant General Manager to help lead our team and elevate guest experiences. This leadership role offers hands-on oversight of daily operations and a path to growth within a globally recognized brand.

You will coach front desk, housekeeping, and F&B teams, manage budgets, and ensure Marriott standards are met. Strong PMS experience and flexibility with evenings and weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hotel management or assistant management experience at branded property.
• Prior Marriott or major hotel brand experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, and F&B.
• Proficiency in property management systems; experience with Marriott systems a plus.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop front desk, housekeeping, and food & beverage teams to deliver exceptional guest service
• Monitor and manage budgets, labor costs, and revenue performance metrics
• Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, policies, and procedures
• Handle guest escalations and resolve complaints with professionalism and urgency
• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training hotel staff
• Oversee scheduling and manage day-to-day staffing needs to optimize hotel performance
