Job summary

Wonder in Fresh Meadows, NY, is seeking an Assistant General Manager to run the four walls of the location. You will own daily results, oversee kitchen, fulfillment, service, and customer experience, and drive performance and profitability.

You will coach hourly staff, optimize labor, manage inventory, and ensure brand standards while partnering with senior leaders on hiring and development. Must be 21+, able to lift 50 lbs, and have a Food Manager Certificate.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience managing shift operations in food service or similar environments.
  • Proven ability to improve throughput, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of food safety, labor standards, and team safety protocols.

You will lead end-to-end execution across kitchen, service, fulfillment, and customer experience, ensuring your location operates at peak performance in every shift. This is not a support role—this is the person who owns the daily results. You are expected to deliver consistent outcomes in quality, speed, team culture, and customer satisfaction, leveraging cross-functional collaboration where needed. You will master internal operations to keep your location running smoothly, consistently, and profitably.ResponsibilitiesOversee and Execute Day-to-Day OperationsOwn daily execution across all functions—kitchen, fulfillment, service, and customer experienceOptimize labor deployment and lead shift readiness to meet volume and throughput targetsProactively use operational and customer data/feedback to identify issues, make real-time decisions, and drive continuous improvementProactively identify and resolve operational bottlenecks to maintain flow and consistencyEnsure full compliance with food safety, labor, and health standardsHold teams accountable for maintaining tools, equipment, and facilities to Wonder brand standards and escalate unresolved issues promptlyLead and Manage Team PerformanceLead, coach, and develop hourly team members with a focus on accountability, service excellence, and safetySet clear expectations and hold team members accountable through real-time feedback and hands-on coachingManage team performance by observing service, tracking KPIs, and escalating issues as neededPartner with the Senior Operations Leader on hiring, training, and development of team membersDrive Operational ExcellenceEnsure flawless execution of brand standards across all brands and stations.
