Job summary

The Maxx Fitness Clubzz in Maumee, Ohio, seeks a committed, friendly Assistant Manager to join our fitness team. If you are passionate about fitness, this role offers a path to leadership and the chance to help members achieve their goals.

You will supervise staff, drive a positive atmosphere, handle memberships and inquiries, and keep the facility clean. Prior fitness experience and Spanish language skills are a plus, and a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified fitness trainers or instructors preferred.
• Conversant in Spanish preferred.
• Experience in fitness industry and staff management desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide the first positive impression of the Maxx Fitness facility.
• Lead and develop staff with goal-driven supervision toward a manager track.
• Drive a team to create a positive, friendly atmosphere.
• Interact with customers by phone and in person about memberships and services.
• Resolve customer problems and ensure changes are properly implemented.
• Process membership forms and changes using check-in systems.
• Contact customers to respond to inquiries.
• Maintain a clean facility.
• Create rapport to promote memberships and services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing the first positive impression of the Maxx Fitness facility;
• The Assistant Manager must be passionate about the fitness industry and have a desire to manage a staff and eventually advance on to a manager position in our company.
• This individual must be driven by goals and have an ability to drive a team of employees to create a positive atmosphere and friendly environment.
• Interact with customers by telephone and in person to provide information about our memberships and services.
• Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems;
• Complete membership forms, prepare change of address records, or issue service discontinuance orders, using check-in computers;
• Contact customers to respond to inquiries;
• Maintaining a clean facility;
• Create rapport with customers that may lead to sales of new memberships or additional services or products.

Physical Functions

• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift;
• Open Availability To Work 40 or More hours each week.
• A High School Diploma Or Equivalent required
• Certified Fitness Trainers or Instructors Preferred
• Conversant in Spanish preferred.
