Job summary

Ultimate Ninjas Academy Deerfield is seeking an energetic Assistant General Manager to lead on-the-floor coaching for kids on our obstacle course. You’ll work with our coaching team to run drills, cheer, and ensure safe, engaging sessions.

You’ll supervise staff on shift, greet families, process waivers and payments, and help keep classes and events on schedule. A fitness/coaching background plus strong communication are ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience or background in fitness, coaching, physical education, youth development, or a customer-facing role — supervisory experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine ability to connect with kids, families, and staff.
• Safety-first mindset and comfort working in an active, physical setting on/around the obstacle course.
• Availability across a mix of weekday and weekend hours, with flexibility for special events.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Coach kids directly on the obstacle course — running drills, spotting, and cheering them on alongside our coaching team.
• Supervise coaches and staff on shift, keeping energy and safety standards high.
• Monitor the obstacle course area and enforce safety protocols, responding promptly to any concerns.
• Greet and check in participants; handle registration and waivers accurately.
• Answer parent and guardian questions in person, by phone, and by email with warmth and professionalism.
• Help keep classes, open gym, parties, and events running smoothly and on schedule.
• Process payments using our POS systems — iClassPro (main) and Square.
• Support facility cleanliness and equipment readiness during your shift.
• Occasionally assist with opening/closing, scheduling, or training tasks as needed.

Ultimate Ninjas Academy Deerfield is a ninja fitness gym for kids that builds strength, confidence, and resilience through movement and play, in a fun, safety-conscious environment. We're looking for a fun, high-energy, adaptable Assistant General Manager to help bring the gym floor to life — someone the kids light up around and parents trust immediately.

This is a hands-on, on-the-floor role. You'll coach kids directly on the obstacle course alongside our coaching team, not just supervise from the sidelines. A background in fitness, coaching, physical education, or youth development is a great fit for this role: real leadership and customer service experience, not a desk job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role requires standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout the facility for extended periods, including spotting, assisting, and occasionally lifting or supporting children on course equipment, as well as lifting or moving course equipment and materials. Weight varies by task — commonly up to 30–40 pounds for equipment, and more when spotting or assisting a child, depending on their size. It's performed on-site at an active, moderately-to-highly noisy indoor youth fitness facility.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

Hourly, commensurate with experience, with additional hours available for the right person. We're a growing business and don't yet offer formal benefits, but perks like class and party discounts are available and can be discussed during your interview.

OUR HIRING PROCESS
