Job summary

Luna Grill in California is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead daily operations, coach a fast-paced team, and uphold Luna Grill standards of hospitality and quality. You will work closely with the General Manager, supervise shifts, manage schedules, and develop staff to grow into future leadership roles.

The role offers a competitive target annual rate based on DOE, guaranteed overtime, and quarterly bonus opportunities, plus benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of restaurant management experience (high-volume or fast-casual)
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people-development skills
• Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities
• Detail-oriented, organized, and calm under pressure
• Solid understanding of FOH & BOH operations
• Tech-savvy with POS systems, KDS, Dayforce, and Microsoft Office
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations including opening, peak service, and closing procedures
• Work in BOH weekly and as needed; fully cross-trained in all BOH positions
• Manage schedules, breaks, and team coverage to optimize service and labor
• Ensure food quality, safety, cleanliness, and presentation meet Luna Grill standards
• Coach, train, and develop team members through feedback and performance guidance
• Assist with payroll, scheduling, inventory, ordering, and operational reporting
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company policies
• Address guest concerns promptly and professionally with a hospitality‑first mindset
• Assist the GM with labor and food cost control
• Participate in hiring, promotions, transfers, and terminations
• Communicate company updates and operational expectations clearly to the team
• Serve as Manager on Duty when the GM is absent

As an Assistant General Manager, you’ll step into a hands‑on leadership role right alongside your General Manager, helping run a high‑performing restaurant, coaching your team, and keeping hospitality and operations strong shift after shift. This role is a launchpad: you’ll report to your General Manager, lead the floor and the team during your shifts, and build the experience to grow into a GM role, Area/District leadership, or a position at our Restaurant Support Center. We build leaders from within at every level: Shift Leader → AGM → GM → Bench GM and beyond.
