Summer House Santa Monica, located in Chicago, seeks an Assistant General Manager with 2+ years AGM experience to lead daily operations and guest experience. This full-time role offers a competitive salary, benefits, and career growth within Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants.

The AGM will supervise opening/closing shifts, train and develop BOH and front-of-house teams, manage inventory, and align with our Culture of Caring. Weekend availability and multi-site support may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant management experience.
• 2+ years of AGM experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Skilled in leading and developing teams.
• Experienced with inventory and BOH systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day restaurant operations run smoothly.
• Assist with training, recruiting, HR/administration; support GM with financials and guest inquiries.
• Organize and supervise opening/closing shifts to ensure guest and employee experience.
• Provide leadership to hourly and management teams; promote Culture of Caring.
• Respond to guest and employee needs with prompt, courteous service.
• Assist GM in controlling costs, driving sales, and achieving financial goals.
• Interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop BOH staff with GM.
• Perform inventories and manage orders; inspect deliveries.
• Model teamwork across all teams.
• Handle challenges with tact and patience.
• Work varied shifts across multiple sites; possible travel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day business operations run smoothly
• Assist with training, recruiting, HR and administrative duties; assist and financials / statement preparation; and assist the GM with customer service inquiries
• Organize, run and supervise smooth and efficient daily opening and closing shifts, ensuring an exceptional guest and employee experience

• Assist GM in managing costs, driving sales and growing the business in support of financial goals
• Partner with GM and management team to interview, hire, onboard, train, supervise and develop all BOH employees and teams as needed
• Perform regular and ad hoc inventories of food, beverage and restaurant supplies and track high cost items; place food, beverage and restaurant supply orders; and accept and inspect deliveries
• Model and promote teamwork across all teams
• Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges pertaining to guests, vendors and employees, and respond with patience and courtesy
• Work a variety of days and shifts (including early mornings, late nights and weekends) at multiple sites with or without overnight travel, as needed
• Move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds

Salary Range

USD $70,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
