Job description

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) serves as a key member of the studio leadership team and is responsible for supporting the General Manager in achieving sales, retention, operational, and member experience goals.

The AGM helps ensure consistent execution of studio standards, provides day-to-day leadership and support to the sales team, and serves as the acting manager in the General Manager's absence. This role balances sales performance, operational excellence, team support, and member engagement to help drive overall studio success.

Key Responsibilities
Sales and Member Experience
  • Deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and prospects through in-person, phone, email, and text communication.
  • Generate membership sales through lead follow-up, relationship building, referrals, and community outreach.
  • Support studio efforts to achieve membership, revenue, and retention goals.
  • Address member concerns and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of memberships, pricing, promotions, and studio offerings.
  • Promote a positive, welcoming, and inclusive studio environment.
Leadership and Team Support
  • Serve as a leadership resource and point of contact for sales associates during assigned shifts and in the General Manager's absence.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Reinforce company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Support coaching and accountability efforts to drive individual and team performance.
  • Communicate operational updates and business priorities effectively to team members.
  • Maintain a complementary schedule to the General Manager to ensure consistent management coverage.
Studio Operations
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the studio to ensure a clean, organized, safe, and professional environment.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, audits, and operational recordkeeping.
  • Ensure accurate use of studio systems and technology platforms, including ClubReady and other business applications.
  • Monitor adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Provide management coverage when the General Manager is unavailable.
Marketing and Community Engagement
  • Participate in studio events, promotions, networking opportunities, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Assist with member appreciation events and local marketing activities.
  • Support studio social media and marketing efforts in partnership with company guidelines and approved practices.
  • Help cultivate relationships that increase brand awareness and membership growth within the local community.
Additional Expectations
  • Demonstrate flexibility in schedule and responsibilities to meet evolving business needs.
  • Attend leadership meetings, trainings, and company-sponsored events as required.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of sales, retail, hospitality, fitness, or customer service leadership experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence positive outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize ClubReady and other business systems.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Schedule Requirements
  • Minimum of 30 hours per week. Inclusive of four full sales shifts
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Ability to provide leadership coverage during periods when the General Manager is unavailable.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the studio for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology.
