Job summary

Aloft Beachwood in Beachwood, Ohio, is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead hotel operations and guest experiences on a full-time basis. The role reports to the General Manager and collaborates across departments to ensure service excellence.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hotel management experience; Marriott experience is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration or Business Administration is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of prior hotel management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous Marriott experience preferred.
• Ability to work between departments in the hotel as needed.
• Ability to cover call-off shifts.
• Bachelor’s degree/higher education qualification/equivalent in Hotel Administration, Business Administration preferred.
• Experience required may vary based on size and complexity of operation.

Responsibilities

• Speak to guests – ask for their feedback and build relationships.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, colleagues, and hotel assets.
• Act as public relations representative to raise awareness of hotel and brand in local community.
• Demonstrate brand citizenship by maintaining compliance with all required brand and service standards.
• Drive team member involvement in community organizations, activities, and businesses.
• Collaborate with colleagues and hotel team members to establish and implement services and programs that meet or exceed guest expectations.
• Establish performance and development goals for team members and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to enhance performance.
• Lead capital plans and asset management initiatives, including working with management company to maintain or improve property’s market leadership position.
