Cardinal Health is seeking an Assistant General Counsel – Specialty Alliance to provide legal support to the Deputy General Counsel, managing a wide variety of complex healthcare matters, drafting and negotiating contracts, and advising on strategic objectives.

The role partners with business teams, handles due diligence on mergers and acquisitions, navigates Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA and other regulations, and requires a JD and bar admission; travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• J.D. required; record of high academic achievement preferred.
• License to practice law in Ohio or active bar license in another state required.
• 8+ years of experience in a large complex in-house setting or AM LAW 100 law firm preferred.
• Commercial/transactional and healthcare experience preferred; MSO experience is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to interface with personnel at many levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to Deputy General Counsel – Specialty Alliance on complex healthcare matters.
• Manage contracts drafting, negotiation, and due diligence for mergers & acquisitions.
• Research, interpret and advise on Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA and other healthcare laws.
